Ally Brooks & Bobbie Hall

Ally Brooks & Bobbie Hall

Bobbie Hall

Bobbie started dance classes at the age of four where she started learning Jazz, and hasn’t looked back!

Over 20 years later she’s still going strong!

She has competed in competitions around the region & state including the Crown International Dance Festival in Melbourne, and performed in many regional, state & interstate performances including dancing at Aurora Stadium, Tasmania for their annual New Year’s Eve Celebrations.

After teaching in Bairnsdale for 6 years, Bobbie took the big jump in 2013 and opened up BOLD School of Dance in Lakes Entrance and Orbost — bringing dance to far East Gippsland.

At the end of 2016, Bobbie made the step to re-structure the dance school into BOLD Dance & Arts and began offering performing arts training to the area.
“I am proud to be actively involved in the local community & working with other talented, like-minded people to bring more opportunities to the area such as the East Gippsland Dance Festival & East Gippsland Performing Arts Eisteddfod.”

Ally Brooks
Hip Hop

Ally started dancing at the age of five doing hip hop, tap, contemporary, jazz and theatrical.
She also dabbled in the fun genres of march & rods! But her favourite genres were hip hop & tap because she could hit all the hard beats and express herself no matter how she felt.

Ally trained at Kicks Dance Studio and went on to train at Westside Performance Group in Melbourne.

After taking a small break from dance, Ally joined BOLD in 2015 dancing in the adults dance class and has since become our substitute teacher for hip hop and contemporary.

Ally is looking forward to taking the Pre-School, Junior and Pre-Teen hip hop classes in Lakes in 2019 and can’t wait to see what her students can bring into the studio.

Bethany Wealands
Open Contemporary - Lakes Entrance

Bethany started dancing at BOLD in Lakes Entrance in 2013 at the age of 10, doing commercial jazz.

Bethany became a member of the Lakes Entrance Performance group in 2015, doing hip hop and jazz.
In 2016 Bethany began contemporary classes and has been fond of this style ever since.
She enjoys its expressive nature and the ability it gives her to convey a story.

Bethany has enjoyed the many opportunities she has had in her 7 years at BOLD including competing annually at the Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod in Traralgon.
She has also enjoyed having the opportunity to perform at the Victorian Dance Festival showcase gala at Melbourne Town Hall in 2017, and at Crown International Dance Competition in 2018 with the combined Lakes Entrance and Orbost troupe.

Bethany is excited to be a trainee teacher in the Open Contemporary class in Lakes Entrance this year and can’t wait to further develop her skills as a dancer and teacher.

Emily Armistead
Pre-Teen Hip Hop - Lakes Entrance

Emily started dance when she was 9 back in 2013 as soon as Bobbie introduced BOLD School of Dance to Lakes Entrance.

She is currently dancing in the Competition hip hip and contemporary teams and has been doing so for 3 years.
This year she is thrilled to be an assistant teacher with Ally teaching Pre Teen hip hop.

One of many reasons Emily wanted to start dance was to escape from reality and express her true self in ways words could not explain.

Emily has competed in numerous Eisteddfods throughout the region with both the Hip Hop & Contemporary Performance Teams.
She has also performed at Crown International Dance Festival and has attended The Victorian Dance Festival in Melbourne.

Emily is eager to broaden her knowledge and skills in dance and is excited to be a trainee teacher to show what she is capable of. She is looking forward to what the future has in store.

Jorja Young
Pre-Teen Hip Hop - Orbost

Jorja started dancing at the age of eight in 2013 when Bobbie announced BOLD in Orbost and started learning commercial jazz and Hip Hop.

In 2014 Jorja competed in her first dance competition, and hasn’t looked back! In the seven years at BOLD, Jorja has competed in state, regional and international competitions including The Latrobe Valley & East Gippsland Eisteddfods & the Crown International Dance Festival.

Jorja has been competing in Hip Hop Duos and Solos since 2016, as well as being a member in the Hip Hop Competition Troupe at BDA. and aims to continue to do so to improve her skills as a performer.

Bobbie introduced Jorja to teaching through assisting the pre-school ballet class, and in the next year started to contribute her choreography ideas, assisting the pre-teen hip hop class.

Jorja has found a passion for hip hop and contemporary & loves trying new genres of dance

2019 she was invited to be a part of the Contemporary Competition Troupe.

Jorja is looking forward to being a trainee teacher in Pre-Teen Hip Hop in Orbost, and can’t wait for what to future holds with her dancing and teaching.

Pats & Cuddles

Joey joined not only Bobbie’s family, but the BDA Family in October 2017 and has since become one of the most popular team members!

Joey is in the studio with Bobbie when he’s not with his furry friends at Paws Pamper & Play in Bairnsdale.

If you see Joey, he will more than welcome a pat and a cuddle (and possibly a kiss or two as well!)

Please let Bobbie know if your child doesn’t wish to see Joey, as she will ensure they don’t have to come close to him while they are at the studio.

Not quite 2 yet, Joey is still learning himself - so we teach the students tips and tricks when it comes to meeting dogs and how to happily and calmly let Joey know when it’s okay for pats and when it’s not… all under Bobbie’s supervision of course!

All teachers hold their current WWCC

Joey holds his cuddle card & is qualified in creating smiles & giggles
